Job Summary

The role of Principal Advisor involves providing high-level advice to senior management on strategic and operational issues. This position requires effective communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills to ensure the smooth operation of the Office of the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Advice: Provide expert advice on strategic and corporate governance matters to support the Executive Director in decision-making.
  • Liaising with Stakeholders: Develop and maintain relationships with business areas, stakeholders, and other departments to ensure effective collaboration and information sharing.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Office of the Executive Director, ensuring quality professional services are provided to senior management.
  • Correspondence and Briefing: Manage correspondence, including briefing requests, and provide timely responses to support the Executive Director.
  • Good Governance and Divisional Objectives: Participate in good governance practices and contribute to divisional objectives by providing strategic advice and guidance.
  • Working Relationships: Establish and maintain productive working relationships within the department and Queensland Government.
  • Special Projects: Undertake special projects as assigned by the Executive Director, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
  • Workplace Safety Culture: Support and promote a workplace safety culture and practices within the department.
