Orthopedic Care Specialist

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Technician to join our team. As an Orthopedic Technician, you will be responsible for assisting physicians in all aspects of an Orthopedic/Sports Medicine medical office.

You will assist with casting, splinting, DME (durable medical equipment) and general patient and surgical care. Additionally, you will help maintain procedure and general maintenance of equipment, supplies and exam rooms.

This role requires formal education and training in the field of orthopedics. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and certification as an Orthopedic Technologist is preferred. One year of experience working as a PTA, OTA, Exercise Physiology, or Medical Assistant (with Orthopedic/Sports Medicine experience) is also accepted in lieu of certification.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as basic computer skills. They will also possess the ability to effectively interact with patients/customers and understand their needs for self-respect and dignity.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in all aspects of an Orthopedic/Sports Medicine medical office
  • Assist with casting, splinting, DME and general patient and surgical care
  • Maintain procedure and general maintenance of equipment, supplies and exam rooms
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Orthopedic Technologist Certification preferred
  • One year experience working as a PTA, OTA, Exercise Physiology, or Medical Assistant (with Orthopedic/Sports Medicine experience)
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • Basic computer skills
