Hitachi Townsville Operations Manager

A leading OEM in North Queensland is seeking a highly motivated, structured, and influential leader for an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Parts and Service Manager in Townsville.

In this role, you will plan, lead, and manage all aspects of the parts and service operations across an expansive territory to provide high-level customer service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining compliance with WHS, Environmental, and QA policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Promoting an inclusive and collaborative safety culture aligned to HCA safety beliefs and behaviours, focusing on achieving an interdependent safety culture.
  • Managing department profit and loss, including achieving revenue, expense, and gross profit targets.
  • Monitoring department utilisation and efficiency performance and managing processes and controls to achieve production targets.
  • Overseeing accuracy and timeliness of customer quote submission, follow-up, and invoicing.
  • Staff recruitment, career development, and performance evaluation.
  • Customer relationship management.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated safety focus with a strong understanding of WHS principles.
  • The ability to engage with and positively enable a team of dedicated staff to achieve business objectives.
  • A developed understanding of and experience managing operational after-sales parts & service support functions.
  • Well-developed negotiation and dispute resolution skills, with the ability to navigate complex issues.
  • Developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and effectively manage multiple work fronts.
  • Ability to understand technical information and interpret technical data.
  • In-depth understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling methodology.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Office suite).
