About the Role

This position will focus on the needs and aspirations of the Townsville community, growing and managing customer relationships, developing a culture of customer-centricity, and reshaping service delivery to maximize value.

The purpose of this role is to provide administration and governance functions for the Environmental Health and Regulation section, working in collaboration with other administrative teams to ensure professional support services are provided consistently.

This role will act as the key interface with the Customer Service area within TCC and be the primary point of contact for customer enquiries for the section.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service and specialist advice to a wide-ranging customer base, including external and internal customers, government departments, executive leadership, Mayor, and Councillors.
  • Generate, monitor, and complete financial processing transactions, including procurement of goods and services, management of portable and attractive item registers, coordination of travel arrangements, credit card reporting, and balancing.
  • Ensure accurate administration of the Schedule of fees and charges, including raising relevant fees and charges, collection of payments, and receipting.
  • Interpret and filter customer service requests for inspection, investigation, and/or scheduling of works, ensuring priority levels are assigned in accordance with the sectional priority matrix.
  • Administrate, investigate, and accurately process relevant applications and/or projects, supporting the Section's requirement to meet relevant legislative and regulatory timeframes.
  • Deliver an outcomes-focused and value-adding culture, where leaders and staff take personal accountability for delivering on Council's Corporate Plan and policies.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping, including decisions, recommendations, and resolutions, in the appropriate system, in accordance with all record keeping and operational standards.

Salary

Salary estimated to be between $65,000 - $95,000 per annum, depending on experience.
