This is a 12-month casual position, based in Sydney. Working at Transurban is different; it's a place where you can see the benefits of your work play out in real life, every day.

We create city-sized solutions—building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads—to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down.

Our team tirelessly monitors the flow of traffic with an eagle eye and responds with lightning speed in the event of incidents, both big and small.

You'll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work with different control systems to monitor and manage traffic on both open roads and in tunnels.
  2. Automated Height Detectors, Road Management systems, CCTV , Automatic Incident Detection Systems – these are just some of the things you will get to know like the back of your hand.
  3. Collaborate with field staff, Emergency Service and your team, you will act swiftly to respond to incidents to contain the event and keep everyone safe.
  4. Incident Management and Traffic Management plans will become second nature to you, you will create these with ease to ensure our roads run more efficiently and safely when things don't go to plan.
  5. Your curious mind will drive you to think bigger, and find new ways to improve our processes, traffic management, and make recommendations.
  6. Collect real-time info on road conditions for our stakeholders, the media and our customers, so there are no surprises when they use our roads.
  7. Understand the importance of rigorous knowledge of traffic management policies, practices and procedures, including operational systems.

Candidates should have experience in a monitoring centre or operational environment, be computer savvy, driven, resilient and efficient. They should also be comfortable working shifts.
