At TeamHEALTH, we offer a diverse range of programs designed to enhance recovery opportunities for individuals whose lives are significantly impacted by mental health challenges. Our services aim to facilitate recovery, diminish social isolation, and improve outcomes in independent living, family wellbeing, education, and employment.

In partnership with Mission Australia and other service providers, the Mental Health Community Support Specialist will contribute to the Integrated Homelessness Support Accommodation Program (IHSAP), employing a recovery-oriented framework and a holistic approach to psychosocial rehabilitation. Support services are delivered on an in-reach basis and are integrated within a stepped care model of mental health care.

Reporting to the Executive Manager of Mental Health Services, the Allied Health Professional will be instrumental in delivering evidence-based, recovery-focused support that is timely and culturally sensitive. This includes conducting assessments, implementing evidence-based psychological interventions, and managing cases effectively.

  • The ability to cultivate and sustain professional relationships and communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including clinical services, participants, caregivers, community organizations, and government agencies.
  • Proven leadership skills to mentor and develop staff, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage workloads in a dynamic environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, demonstrating sound judgment in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • A commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, encompassing written, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and innovative approach, with the capability to work independently and collaboratively within a broader team.
  • Ethical work practices, including an understanding of confidentiality limits and appropriate personal boundaries.

Desirable Qualifications:

We offer competitive employment conditions, including five weeks of annual leave, salary packaging options, and a supportive, flexible work environment. An attractive salary package will be negotiated with the successful candidate based on their qualifications and experience.
