Senior Underwriter, Financial Institutions

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance is expanding its team in Sydney and seeking a skilled Financial Institutions Underwriter to join our Executive & Professional lines.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences, has a strong understanding of financial analysis and markets, and can build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and customers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing a book of financial lines business, developing and expanding broker and customer relationships, and underwriting assigned accounts with a focus on sound underwriting discipline.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and grow a book of financial lines business consistent with the team's strategic focus.
- Develop and expand broker and customer relationships.
- Underwrite assigned accounts with a focus on sound underwriting discipline.
- Work closely with the in-house claims team to create a positive and transparent experience for customers.
- At least 5 years of Financial lines underwriting experience.
- Solid underwriting fundamentals with specialties in Financial Institutions.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial analysis and financial markets.
- Existing broker and customer relationships, or the ability to develop strong relationships quickly.
- Strong collaboration and team building skills.
- Strong communication skills, including negotiation, written communication, and presentation experience.
