Occupational Health and Safety Expert

We are seeking a seasoned Occupational Health and Safety expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of occupational health and safety practices, systems, and processes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance, coaching, and training to managers, staff, and volunteers on occupational health and safety matters.
  • Develop and implement OHS campaigns aimed at enhancing safety awareness and preventing workplace injuries.
  • Conduct thorough safety audits and recommend actionable improvements to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of OHS-related documentation, including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and emergency equipment records.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment that encourages open communication and continuous improvement in safety practices.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in occupational health and safety or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and regulations, particularly in the community health sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach, train, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in incident investigation, risk prevention programs, and safety audits, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent data analysis and reporting skills, ensuring accurate monitoring of safety performance and compliance.
