Indigenous Engagement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Indigenous Engagement Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to contribute to the development and implementation of Indigenous engagement strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Indigenous engagement strategies, including identifying and engaging with Indigenous contractors and businesses.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to align strategies and ensure integration with broader organisational goals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and policies affecting Indigenous engagement and employment.
- Monitor and report on the progress of the Indigenous Engagement strategy and associated initiatives.
- Provide support and advice to project teams on Indigenous engagement and participation.
Requirements:
- Experience in a large-scale industrial environment and a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories, and issues affecting Indigenous communities.
- Tertiary qualifications in community development, social sciences or related field are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in delivering training and awareness programs.

Other Information:
- The successful candidate will require the ability to travel intra-state and interstate (ad hoc).
- A National Police Certificate is required.
- A current driver's licence is also required.
- The position requires the incumbent to identify as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent pursuant to the exemption from the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA).
