Indigenous Engagement Manager Role

We are seeking an experienced Indigenous Engagement Manager to contribute to the development and implementation of Indigenous engagement strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and engaging with Indigenous contractors, as well as developing Indigenous awareness programs.

  • Develop and implement Indigenous engagement strategies, including identification and engagement with Indigenous contractors.
  • Design and deliver Indigenous awareness programs to educate staff and contractors about Indigenous cultures and histories.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of strategies and integration with broader organisational goals.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and policies affecting Indigenous engagement and employment.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of the Indigenous Engagement strategy and associated initiatives.
  • Provide support and advice to project teams on Indigenous engagement and participation.
  • Organise and facilitate workshops, meetings, and consultations with Indigenous communities and stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between the organisation and Indigenous communities, ensuring open and effective communication.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and implementing best practices.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in Indigenous engagement and community development.
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and histories.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Highly developed problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
