Duty Manager

As a Duty Manager in our Food and Beverage department, you will be responsible for leading by example to provide efficient, friendly, and professional service to all guests. Your duties will include:
- Managing the front-of-house operations to ensure high-quality service to our customers.
- Supervising and supporting lounge areas as required.
- Defining the organization of work to be performed by team members and supervising their daily activities.
- Handling guest challenges and situations and participating in the first response emergency team.
- Completing the daily running sheet and communicating with all areas of the lounge, including Qantas staff.
- Reporting sickness, absence, punctuality, and other issues to the Lounge and T&C Manager.
- Achieving budgets, customer satisfaction targets, and other business metrics.
- Receiving and dealing with verbal complaints and forwarding them to the Lounge Manager when necessary.
- Communicating with the front-of-house team, kitchen team, and higher management to provide relevant information.
- Assisting with implementing training programs for all employees, conducting inductions, and skills training.
- Maintaining and improving quality service in our lounges.
- Maintaining standards of hygiene for food handling and presentation as prescribed by council and legislative regulations.
- Ensuring that Accor and brand policies are respected.
- Having excellent knowledge of software operation and usage.
- Checking discrepancy reports and taking action accordingly.
- Training junior team members and coordinating monthly on-the-job training for the department.
- Logging and informing the Manager of system problems and workplace injuries.
- Assisting with protecting and maintaining control of the lounge and bar areas.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A passion for people and creating the next generation of hospitality leaders.
- Previous experience managing a team of 20 or more team members.
- PREFERRED territory education.
- The ability to support and guide team members to reach operational expectations.
- Prior experience working with Ento, Intelex, or a related system.
- PREFERRED previous experience in a similar role.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluency in English, with additional languages a plus.
- Good interpersonal skills and self-confidence.
- Good sales skills.
- Good presentation.
- A thorough and organized approach.
