Job Opportunity in Agricultural Sales

This is an exciting opportunity to expand our network, identify customer requirements and improve data subscription sales in the agricultural technology sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing a sales strategy with clear actions and key performance indicators (KPIs). You will also undertake market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a comprehensive sales plan that meets the needs of our customers.
  • Undertake regular market research to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Liaise with local growers, farmers and businesses to build strong relationships and promote our products or services.
  • Presentation skills are essential for this role as you will need to confidently present to audiences and communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • You will also have the opportunity to travel regularly to semi-remote regions to assist with fieldwork installations and provide technical support.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years' proven track-record in sales.
  • A background in agriculture is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.
  • An existing network in SA Agriculture, particularly broad-acre farming, would be advantageous.
  • You must be self-starting with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and DropBox.
