At the forefront of natural hazard management, we're seeking an experienced professional to contribute to our team's success. This role offers opportunities for career progression, exposure to technical and strategic initiatives, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who can design, maintain, and enhance modelling processes for natural hazard budgeting, reinsurance program optimisation and allocation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine models for natural hazard risk assessment
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and timely preparation for natural hazard and reinsurance modelling
  • Deliver technical modelling outputs and insights to stakeholders within agreed timeframes and quality standards
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve, automate, and simplify modelling and analytical workflows
  • Collaborate with external consultants and reinsurance brokers to validate data and modelling results
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams to ensure modelling advice aligns with evolving business needs

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in financial services, ideally with exposure to general insurance
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel, VBA, SQL, and SAS; Python experience desirable
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills
  • Ability to manage small to medium projects independently
  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Mathematics
  • Near-completion or recently qualified Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia (or equivalent) desired
