
Aboriginal Early Years Support Specialist

This critical support role will focus on providing essential assistance to family services and programs designed for Bringing Up Aboriginal Babies at Home (BUABAH). The position involves working closely with early years' cohorts, promoting child safety, stability, and cultural connection for families.
About the Role- A commitment to values that promote inclusivity and diversity is paramount.
- An educational background in Early Childhood Development, Infant Mental Health, Nursing, Social Work or equivalent is required.
- A profound understanding of the impact of colonisation on Aboriginal families, children, and young people is necessary.
- A culturally sensitive approach is essential when working with Aboriginal families and communities.
- Experience working with families in pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood using a strengths-based approach is highly valued.
- The ability to develop trusting relationships with families and provide skills development that promotes self-determination is crucial.
- Proven experience in collaborative work with other organisations is essential.
- Supporting colleagues through informed feedback and assisting with cases is also required.
- A valid Police Check, Working with Children's Check, and Victorian Driver Licence are mandatory requirements.
