The position of Senior Medical Practitioner is a key role within the Child and Adolescent Health Service.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis opportunity involves managing psychiatric patients for ongoing care, conducting assessments, diagnoses, and treatments, as well as ensuring compliance with legal and ethical obligations.
As a senior medical practitioner, you will work closely with our Head of Service to investigate and manage complex psychiatric presentations, participate in multidisciplinary team clinical review meetings, and contribute to collaborative care planning and decision-making.
- Deliver evidence-based and patient-centred care through conducting psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Assume medico-legal responsibility for CAMHS patients under the Mental Health Act, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical obligations.
- Investigate and manage complex psychiatric presentations requiring specialised psychiatric input.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team clinical review meetings to contribute to collaborative care planning and decision-making.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
