About This Role

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a team of support workers in a residential care setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of designated residential sites, ensuring the needs of individuals we support are met.

The Residential Care Team Coordinator plays a critical role in delivering quality culturally appropriate services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of support staff to deliver high-quality, culturally sensitive services.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of residential houses, including documentation and rostering.
  • Develop and maintain effective community networks to promote the service and facilitate access to community supports and resources.
  • Comply with risk management frameworks, including oversighting risk assessments and safety plans for vulnerable children and young people.

Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in the social sciences or equivalent sector experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in the social and community services sector, with a focus on residential care.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience leading a team.
  • Current NSW drivers' license.
  • Demonstrated understanding of child protection issues and the ability to identify and address these issues when required.

Bonus Requirements:

  • Case management experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in restoration practices, working with families through the restoration process and the Structured Decision Making (SDM) model.
