Consultant for Competency Framework Development

We are seeking a skilled professional to support the development and implementation of competency frameworks within our organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in building the capability of field assessors, managing inductions and competency records, and facilitating validation sessions.

About the Role

This includes:

  • Providing hands-on coaching, mentoring, and ongoing support to field assessors during their initial assessments and professional development.
  • Managing field assessor inductions, competency records, and internal development programs, while coordinating forums and tracking completion of training and assessment requirements.
  • Helping build understanding of competency frameworks and processes across the business; facilitating validation sessions and assisting with framework updates and reporting.
  • Working closely with stakeholders to implement change strategies, communication plans, and ensuring new processes are understood and applied consistently across the organisation.
About You

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A strong understanding of competency frameworks, governance processes, and principles of effective assessment.
  • Proven experience in supporting and implementing change management in complex environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of RTO Standards, the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), the Training Accreditation Council (TAC), and best practice VET compliance.
  • Strong skills in problem-solving, project management, research, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Sound knowledge of current State and National training systems, issues, and legislative requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, mentor staff, and communicate effectively through written and verbal formats.
  • Proficient in using MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other relevant workplace systems.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to complete within 12 months); a diploma or higher qualification in adult education is desirable.
