Role Overview

We are currently seeking a trade qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our Workshop team as a Leading Hand in the Somerton branch. This role will involve leading a highly skilled workshop crew performing assembly, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Workshop Technicians to meet and exceed service expectations
  • Drive efficiency within the team to meet tight deadlines while ensuring employees comply with all WHS responsibilities and maintain a safety-first culture
  • Liaise with technical support staff and coordinate diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work
  • Maintain work schedules to ensure efficient utilization of equipment and resources
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day activities of workshop personnel and utilize labour effectively
  • Liaise with stakeholders regarding machine performance, product, workmanship, and warranty

Requirements

  • Previous experience leading a team to achieve and exceed set goals
  • Hold relevant Australian or Australian-recognized diesel or mobile plant trade qualifications
  • Safety-first mindset to ensure the HCA Safety Culture is embraced, displayed, and driven from within
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to build long-term relationships
  • The ability to navigate complex technical issues to deliver high-quality outcomes in repair and maintenance services with minimal to zero rework
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Hitachi mining and construction equipment would be highly advantageous

Estimated Salary Range: AU$85,000 - AU$110,000 per annum
