**Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Role Overview**

At our organization, we're seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Mt Kuring Gai.

This hands-on position involves maintaining and repairing our fleet of waste trucks and truck bodies to ensure everything runs safely and efficiently.

The successful candidate will perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy vehicles, conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance, diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults, maintain accurate service records using fleet management systems, and support workshop safety and cleanliness in line with WHS policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues related to engines, transmissions, and other critical vehicle systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to identify potential problems and prevent downtime.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to resolve technical issues and implement improvements to our operations.
Requirements:
  • Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Diesel Fitter (Cert III or equivalent).
  • A valid HR license.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics and electrics.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Experience with fleet maintenance and running repairs.
