Key Responsibilities:- Lead and mentor a team of property and fund accountants
- Prepare detailed monthly management accounts and provide comprehensive commentary on portfolio performance
- Oversee technical accounting matters, including consolidations, acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures
- Lead the preparation and submission of accounting papers on key issues such as property valuations, lease accounting, and financial instruments
- Manage and review business activity statements (BAS) and ensure compliance with tax regulations
The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in accounting or finance, with CPA or CA accreditation, and at least 10 years of experience in technical accounting, preferably in the commercial real estate or funds management sector. Strong technical understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), IFRS, and their application to Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Managed Investment Schemes is essential.
A strong ability to write and present technical accounting papers, and liaise effectively with auditors on complex accounting matters, is also required. The successful candidate will be able to drive the development of accounting policies related to property and trust accounting, and ensure they are robust and adaptable to evolving business needs.
Requirements:- Tertiary qualification in accounting or finance
- CPA or CA accreditation
- At least 10 years of experience in technical accounting
- Strong technical understanding of AASB, IFRS, and their application to REITs and Managed Investment Schemes
- Ability to write and present technical accounting papers
- Liaise effectively with auditors on complex accounting matters
