As a Senior Utility Engineer at Arcadis, you will play a key role in supporting our global business in delivering world-leading sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. Role Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Utility Engineer to join our Civil and Highways Engineering team in New South Wales. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing utility design and approval processes for major infrastructure projects across Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Civil 3D or 12D software to provide 3D modeling, coordination, and clash detection of utilities in appropriate 3D software;
  • Identify utility impacts resulting from civil/structural designs and resolve clashes and spaceproof design relocations;
  • Coordinate with utility authorities to obtain inputs for design, protection, and relocation requirements and approvals;
  • Manage subcontractors such as Water Service Coordinators (WSC) and Electrical designers (ASP3);
  • Review design documents and ensure compliance with project components, including drawings, reports, specifications, and interfaces with other disciplines;
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design;
  • Liaise with the Project Manager and client to keep them informed of project developments;
  • Provide leadership and technical advice to project team members;
  • Manage design development, quality assurance, and client feedback, ensuring effective communication of changes/modifications;
  • Provide direction to the project team, leading by example to achieve sector goals and championing a quality, innovative, client-focused, and entrepreneurial culture.
Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated years of relevant post-graduate experience, including supervising aspects of a project, application of standards, and technical knowledge;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing utility approval processes for major utility relocation and protection designs on infrastructure projects;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating, and delegation skills;
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally;
  • Experience of working in multi-discipline design and/or project teams.
