Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Utilities Engineer to join our Civil and Highways Engineering team in New South Wales. This exciting opportunity will involve supporting a pipeline of infrastructure projects across Australia, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Utilize Civil 3D or 12D software to provide 3D modeling, coordination, and clash detection of utilities in appropriate 3D software;
  2. Identify utility impacts resulting from civil/structural designs and resolve clashes and spaceproof design relocations;
  3. Coordinate with utility authorities to obtain inputs for design, protection, and relocation requirements and approvals;
  4. Manage subcontractors, including Water Service Coordinators (WSC) and Electrical designers (ASP3);
  5. Review design documents and ensure compliance with project components, including drawings, reports, specifications, and interfaces with other disciplines;
  6. Collaborate with design disciplines to maintain the integrity of the overall design;
  7. Liaise with the Project Manager and client to keep them informed of project developments;
  8. Provide leadership and technical advice to project team members;
  9. Manage design development, quality assurance, and client feedback, ensuring effective communication of changes/modifications;
  10. Provide direction to the project team, leading by example to achieve sector goals and championing a quality, innovative, client-focused, and entrepreneurial culture.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  1. A degree-qualified engineering professional with professional accreditation;
  2. Demonstrated years of relevant post-graduate experience, including supervising aspects of a project, applying standards, and technical knowledge;
  3. Demonstrated experience in managing utility approval processes for major utility relocation and protection designs on infrastructure projects;
  4. Demonstrated ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating, and delegation skills;
  5. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally;
  6. Experience working in multidiscipline design and/or project teams.
