Job Title: Principal Civil Engineer - Utilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Civil Engineer - Utilities to join our Sydney team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing utility relocation designs, leading 3D modeling and coordination, and providing technical advice to project team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage utility relocation designs with civil/structural designs to resolve clashes and design relocations
  • Lead 3D modeling, coordination, and clash detection of utilities in appropriate 3D software
  • Work in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design
  • Provide technical advice to project team members
  • Confirm relevant authority requirements, standards, specifications, and procedures to the design scope of works
  • Liaise with relevant utility authorities to manage and coordinate approvals
  • Assist with the management of sub-consultants/specialist utility designers
  • Review and ensure compliance with project components, including drawings, reports, specifications, and studies
  • Guide the technical development of junior engineers in the utilities discipline area
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualified engineer with extensive experience in utilities design
  • Relevant engineering degree and Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation
  • Experience in managing utility approval processes for major utility relocation and protection designs on infrastructure projects
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Experience working in multi-discipline design and/or project teams
