Key Role Description

Critical Speech Pathology Position

You will have the opportunity to apply your expertise in a unique and rewarding way.

Working closely with centre directors, educators, and stakeholders, you will observe, identify, and support children's learning, development, and well-being.

Main duties include:

  • Implementing evidence-informed strategies to enhance outcomes for children and families within the early learning setting.
  • Collaborating with Centre Directors, Educators, and key stakeholders to monitor children's progression and provide necessary support.
  • Maintaining regular communication with families to ensure their child's inclusion and participation.
  • Bolstering links with local services and streamlining referral pathways into and out of the centre.
  • Participating in Centre Team meetings and contributing to team cohesion.
  • Engaging in close liaison and regular supervision with senior speech pathology staff.
  • Delivering professional development and contributing to reports, briefings, and resources as required.
  • Ensuring all administrative tasks are met according to Goodstart policies and procedures.

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and coaching skills.
  • A strong understanding of child development from birth to 5 years.
  • The ability to document, analyse, and report on relevant key performance indicators.
  • Hanen Learning Language and Loving It Training Certification is desirable but not essential.
