Job Role Overview

To meet the UK government's ambitious solar power goals, we are seeking a professional to take on the role of Electrical Design Engineer in our team. This position will involve designing and developing detailed designs for secured orders, conducting power system studies, and collaborating with mechanical design engineers to ensure project requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Development: Translate conceptual designs into detailed designs that meet functional and contractual specifications.
  • Power System Studies: Carry out Load Flows, Fault Analysis, Protection Studies, P28 Voltage Flicker, G5/5 Harmonic Assessments, G99 Reactive Power, and Frequency Response Simulations.
  • Sales Support: Assist in sales stage of a project by providing tender preparation documents to meet customer timescales and quality standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Mechanical Design Engineers to align on project requirements and detailed design development.
  • Project Coordination: Liaise with CAD draughtsmen to lead the design package production and ensure it meets deadlines and quality standards.
  • Support and Liaison: Provide support during installation, commissioning, and testing phases, ensuring necessary documentation is produced on time.
  • Client Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers, providing technical support and updates as required.
  • HAZOP and Risk Management: Participate in HAZOP studies and risk assessments, where applicable.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality management policies and procedures.
