Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Design Engineer to lead the electrical design of innovative energy systems across various power generation and renewable energy projects.

This exciting role will place you at the heart of our Engineering team, working closely with colleagues to develop detailed, cost-effective electrical engineering designs that meet project specifications.

You will be responsible for creating specifications, calculations, and equipment selection, as well as guiding junior engineers and CAD draughtsmen while promoting a strong knowledge-sharing culture.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years' experience in electrical design within power generation or renewable energy sectors. Strong command of LV and MV system design, control, and instrumentation is also essential.

Additionally, you should be proficient in MS Office and electrical analysis tools, such as ETAP and DIgSILENT. Eligibility to work in the UK and a valid UK/EU driving licence are also required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or HNC/HND with equivalent experience).
  • At least 5 years' experience in electrical design within power generation or renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong command of LV and MV system design, control, and instrumentation.
  • Proficient in MS Office and electrical analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, DIgSILENT).
  • Eligible to work in the UK and hold a valid UK/EU driving licence.
    • Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration (e.g., IET).
    • Knowledge of DNO/G99 requirements, NERS accreditation, and HV substation design.
    • Experience in CHP systems or hybrid power applications.
    • Familiarity with AutoCAD, PLCs, SCADA, and grid connection processes.
