About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate AOD/Mental Health Clinician to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our Youth Services team, you will provide assessment, treatment, and support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing co-existing AOD and mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality engagement, assessment, treatment, and support to individuals and families accessing our services.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based counselling interventions and referral pathways.
  • Maintain regular communication and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of our services, aligning with our Strategic Plan and client demand.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology (Provisional Registration with AHPRA or internship documentation sent to AHPRA within a fortnight of commencing employment).
  • Valid NSW Employee Working With Children Check.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence.
  • Clinical experience in providing evidence-based treatment.
  • Ability to build rapport and engage with young people.
  • Experience in delivering mental health services, including specialist skills in assessing, managing, and treating clients in a cross-cultural setting.
  • Excellent team working skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to impart knowledge in a learning environment.
  • Flexible approach to service delivery.
  • High degree of computer literacy, including experience with report writing and electronic client information management systems.
