About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Worker to join our Women and Children's Program in Blacktown. As a Peer Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families affected by mental health issues, empowering them to achieve their hopes and dreams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide peer support and guidance to individuals and families, drawing from your own lived experience of mental health recovery.
  • Develop and implement recovery-focused plans, tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual or family.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to support.
  • Model hope and recovery, promoting a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach.

About the Program

Our Women and Children's Program provides supported accommodation and outreach support to mothers parenting with a mental health issue who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We are committed to empowering individuals and families to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

Selection Criteria

  • Certificate IV or above in a relevant field or a minimum of 2 years' full-time experience working in the human services field.
  • A strong commitment to recovery-based practice.
  • A personal lived experience of mental health recovery.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with a lived experience of mental health issues.
