Poultry Farm Worker Opportunity

The poultry industry in Australia is a significant agricultural sector, providing numerous job opportunities. As a farm worker in this field, you can launch your career without prior experience.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Collecting and grading eggs
  • Feeding and monitoring chickens
  • Cleaning sheds, equipment, and work areas
  • Catching and transferring birds
  • Reporting bird health or production issues
  • Following strict hygiene and biosecurity protocols
Requirements:
  • Ability to work without prior experience – training provided on the job
  • Must be physically fit and able to work in enclosed farm environments
  • Comfortable working with live birds and in variable temperatures
  • Reliable and able to work early mornings or rotating shifts
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
  • Basic English communication skills (reading/writing)
  • Willingness to work in regional or rural locations
Visa Information:
  • Open to Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417 or 462) holders
  • Also suitable for Seasonal Worker Programme (SWP) or PALM scheme participants from eligible countries
  • Long-term visa sponsorship may be considered for exceptional candidates
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Hourly pay: AUD $23.50 – $28.00/hour, depending on shift and location
  • Overtime, weekend, and holiday rates apply as per the Meat Industry Award
  • Typical earnings: weekly AUD $900 – $1,200, full-time yearly salary approximately AUD $48,000 – $55,000
