Teaching Positions

Cedars Christian College ASPIRE is a special school for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Intellectual impairments. The school sits in the heart of the beautiful Illawarra region, within the grounds of Cedars Christian College.

The Learning Plan at Cedars ASPIRE prioritises investment in remedial literacy, numeracy programs, and critical life and independent living skills. Each child's academic, social, and emotional requirements are responded to uniquely.

Enrolments will be from Years 3-8, comprised of two small classes. Each class will have approximately 5-10 students, a Class Teacher and Learning and Wellbeing Assistant.

Current Opportunities

We seek both full-time and part-time teachers to join our team commencing in the new term.

Class Teacher
Permanent Full-Time – teaching a stage-based class (Stage 2: Years 3–4, Stage 3: Years 5–6, or Stage 4: Years 7–8).

Part-Time options will also be considered for the right candidate.

RFF Teacher
Permanent Part-Time – providing RFF teaching across both primary and secondary classes.

Key Requirements
  • Curriculum knowledge and excellent teaching practice
  • Ability to structure lessons for diverse academic and wellbeing needs
    • Special Educational qualifications desirable, but applicants without formal qualifications may apply if experienced in teaching students with diverse needs or willing to undertake relevant professional learning
  • Capacity to create safe, inclusive, and challenging learning environments
  • Experience working with students with disability
  • Ability to incorporate a Christian worldview into lessons
  • Strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork
  • Positive contribution to the college community
  • Strong technology skills
