Job Overview

We are seeking a visionary leader to drive the development of internal actuarial capabilities and transition from an outsourced model to a hybrid operating model.

This is a rare opportunity to build a team, influence strategic direction, and contribute to reform across personal injury and statutory insurance schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a hybrid actuarial services model
  • Establish and lead an internal actuarial team
  • Provide strategic advice on scheme performance and risk
  • Develop actuarial models to support regulatory decision-making
  • Mentor and uplift capability across the organisation
  • Lead reform initiatives in workers' compensation and related schemes

About You

A Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia with extensive experience in personal injury insurance or statutory schemes is required.

Proven track record in building actuarial functions and leading cross-functional teams, with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

A strategic thinker able to translate data into actionable insights.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Australian actuarial landscape and be able to navigate complex regulatory environments.

Experience working with government agencies and a strong understanding of their policies and procedures would be beneficial.
