Actuarial Balance Sheet Leader

A new leadership opportunity awaits.

The role offers an exciting chance to join our finance team as a senior actuary overseeing the management of the life insurance balance sheet for both local and Group reporting. This key position will oversee the efficient management of the life insurance balance sheet, including local regulatory capital, Zurich Group economic capital, and liquidity.

  • Manage and maintain a balanced balance sheet, ensuring compliance with local statutory/regulatory guidelines.
  • Prepare relevant regulatory reports, including APRA forms.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including the Chief Life Actuary and various teams across the business.
  • Lead a team of professionals in managing balance sheet and actuarial matters.
  • Provide advice and guidance on complex actuarial issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
  2. Driving process improvements and implementing changes to optimize business operations and assets.
  3. Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional certifications.
  • Senior actuarial and management experience, including at least 10 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong knowledge of local statutory/regulatory guidelines and rules in the Australian life insurance industry.
  • Deep understanding of actuarial processes and techniques in a life insurance context.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build and mentor high-performing teams.
