Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Legal Counsel to join our team at News Corp Australia. As a key member of our legal team, you will provide strategic and actionable legal support and advice to our business, particularly in the areas of commercial and corporate law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice and support to our business on commercial and corporate matters, including privacy, marketing, data, and procurement.
  • Apply an internal overlay to external advice received to ensure it is applicable to our business imperatives.
  • Assist the General Counsel as required to ensure that the Legal Team operates efficiently and with strategic impact.
  • Collaborate with others in the Legal Team and assist with cross-over of work and overflow as necessary.

Requirements

  • Qualified to practice as a solicitor in an Australian jurisdiction.
  • 3-6 years post-qualification experience, ideally made up of private practice and in-house experience.
  • Highly skilled in legal drafting, reasoning, and analysis, written and verbal communication, and negotiation.
  • Able to identify legal risks/issues and offer practical commercially appropriate solutions.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen.
