About the Role

We are seeking a skilled legal professional to join our team as an In-House Counsel specializing in the Food & Beverage sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts and legal documents, including but not limited to tenancies, service agreements, construction contracts, franchise agreements, and supplier agreements.
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements, including Modern Slavery, Privacy, and Whistleblowing, while staying informed on relevant legal developments.
  • Manage corporate governance and company secretarial functions.
  • Stay abreast of international and local legal trends and governance issues.
  • Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on legal and regulatory matters, ensuring adherence to internal policies.
  • Act as the primary legal advisor to senior management, assisting in the identification of legal risks and opportunities to enhance business operations.
  • Collaborate with regional and group legal teams to ensure alignment on legal strategies.
  • Maintain organized records and manage documentation and contract databases.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degree with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within a reputable law firm or in-house setting in the Food & Beverage industry.
  • A comprehensive understanding of corporate and commercial law, consumer law, and property and construction law.
  • Strong commercial insight with substantial experience in contract negotiation, drafting, and review.
  • Proven experience in handling a diverse range of commercial agreements, including procurement and consultancy contracts, NDAs, and MoUs.
  • Exceptional conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to convey complex legal concepts in clear and straightforward language.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
