Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts and legal documents, including service agreements, franchise contracts, and supplier agreements.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance and reporting obligations, including areas such as Privacy and Whistleblowing, while staying informed on new legal developments affecting the business.
  • Manage corporate governance and company secretarial functions.
  • Stay abreast of relevant legal and governance trends at both international and local levels.
  • Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on laws and regulations, ensuring adherence to internal policies.
  • Act as the primary legal advisor to senior management, assisting in risk management and business opportunity optimization.
  • Collaborate with regional and group legal teams to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage document and contract databases.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degree with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within a reputable law firm or in-house legal department in the F&B sector.
  • A comprehensive understanding of corporate, commercial, consumer, and property law.
  • Strong commercial insight with extensive experience in contract negotiation and drafting.
  • Proven track record in reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including NDAs and consultancy contracts.
  • Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of conveying complex legal concepts in straightforward language.
  • Adeptness in working independently as well as collaboratively in diverse team settings.
