Budget Strategy and Coordination

The Division operates at the intersection of finance, economics, and policy to advise on strategy and delivery of budget processes, including financial projections, risks, and opportunities.

As an Advisor, you will assist in providing high quality advice, support projects, conduct research, and analyse information to support policy development and budget processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with others in Treasury to coordinate the delivery of Budget Papers and other related products.
  • Assisting in the coordination of annual Budget and Half-Yearly Review process.
  • Improving processes to ensure best practices.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated professional experience in accounting, finance, law, economics, data science, public policy or related disciplines.
  • Previous work experience in policy, research, accounting, finance or other related disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate policy analysis and advice clearly and effectively (verbally and in writing).
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and manage sensitive stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in undertaking research and drafting briefing materials for executive offices highly regarded.

This role is integral to contributing to the development of best practices and implementation of new ideas within NSW Government departments.
