Job Summary

Talent Quarter is seeking a highly skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing support to individuals with challenging behaviours, helping them to develop coping strategies and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments to identify the root cause of challenging behaviours, taking into account the individual's unique needs and circumstances.
  2. Develop Personalised Behaviour Support Plans: Develop and implement behaviour support plans tailored to individual needs, working closely with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  3. Provide Training and Support: Provide training and support to clients, families, and caregivers on behaviour management techniques, empowering them to take an active role in the individual's care.
  4. Monitor Progress and Adjust Plans: Monitor progress and adjust support plans as necessary, ensuring that the individual receives the most effective support possible.
  5. Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care, addressing the individual's physical, emotional, and social needs.
  6. Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and interventions, ensuring that all relevant information is readily available.
  7. Participate in Team Meetings: Attend team meetings and participate in case conferences as required, contributing to the development of effective care plans and strategies.
Requirements
  1. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, social work, or a related field.
  2. NDIS Registration: Have completed or enquired into the NDIS Self-assessment tool to become registered as Proficient, Core, or an Advanced Practitioner.
  3. Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience working with individuals with challenging behaviours.
  4. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and evidence-based interventions, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Compassionate Approach: A compassionate and patient approach to working with clients, with a commitment to providing high-quality support and care.
