Business Development Principal

About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic Principal, Business Development, to join our Surety Practice in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate accounts, developing client relationships, and pursuing new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of mid-large corporate clients, creating and converting new business and growth opportunities.
- Develop and implement clear and effective strategies to meet client expectations and grow your client portfolio.
- Have a thorough understanding of clients' businesses, risk management, and financial needs.
- Represent and uphold MMC's values to clients, colleagues, and key counterparties.
- Contribute to the company's profit objectives by effectively managing revenue and expense budgets.
Requirements:
- 6+ years experience in managing a portfolio of mid-large corporate clients, creating and converting new business and growth opportunities.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications with a strong understanding of business, finance, accounting, and ideally bank guarantees and surety bonds.
- Sound business acumen, including a well-rounded knowledge of key macro factors affecting companies and the sectors they operate in.
- Proven or developing business development capability.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of client organizations, including the C-suite, as well as internal Marsh stakeholders.
