Job Title: Waterways Data Collector

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to collect data on recreational fishing activities at various waterways across the Sunshine Coast region.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys interacting with the public, working outdoors, and being part of a team. As a Waterways Data Collector, you will be responsible for collecting information from recreational fishers, identifying and recording species of fish, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with recreational fishers to gather information about their fishing trips
  • Identify, count, and measure over 40 species of fish
  • Follow protocols for recording data accurately and clearly
  • Communicate effectively with recreational fishers and other team members

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Punctuality and reliability due to the independent nature of the work
  • Able to identify commonly caught recreational species or acquire those skills rapidly
  • Friendly and approachable personality
  • Current Queensland C-class driver's license
  • Mobile phone
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and weekdays
  • Availability to work on Fridays
  • Ability to work across multiple locations in the Sunshine Coast region
