Creative Visual Effects Specialist

Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled professional to create sophisticated visual effects in high-end films. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional skills in creating particle, rigid-body, fluid, cloth, fur, and/or hair simulations or animations.
The selected individual will be responsible for applying lighting and shaders to produce the final rendered image or passing the simulation on to a Lighting Technical Director.
They will work closely with the team to determine the various design solutions needed to create the desired effects.
Responsibilities include designing and creating images, elements, effects, pipelines, tools, and techniques, as well as helping to design solutions involving a more procedural approach in order to create the required effects.
The successful candidate will also be expected to produce reviewable composites of all FX elements for a shot and sometimes produce final renders too.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent knowledge of Maya and Houdini
- Thorough understanding of the techniques and technologies relating to FX simulation and procedural animation
- Extensive experience producing effects such as smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam, and explosions in addition to simulation techniques for rigid-bodies, cloth, and hair
A bonus skillset would include experience with Naiad and RealFlow, as well as programming skills with C/C++ along with knowledge of the Houdini HDK and/or Maya API, Unix shell scripting.
