FX Artist Role Summary

We are seeking an exceptional FX Artist to join our team and contribute their skills in creating high-quality animation for various projects. As a key player, you will work closely with other departments to ensure that shots are delivered to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create particle, rigid-body, fluid, cloth, fur, and/or hair simulations or animations using commercial and proprietary FX tools such as Maya, Houdini, and Naiad.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve project objectives.
  • Design and implement visual effects solutions to support the production of high-quality VFX.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of techniques and technologies relating to FX simulation and procedural animation.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of Houdini and/or Maya.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to think creatively and analytically.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience producing complex visual effects such as smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam, and explosions.
  • Good understanding of animation principles and motion design.
  • Working knowledge of Renderman or Arnold rendering engines.
  • Familiarity with pipeline management and software integration.
