About the Role

Our Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta is seeking an experienced Labour Relations Specialist to join our Employment Relations team on a temporary full-time basis. This role offers an exciting and varied opportunity where you will primarily focus on supporting current enterprise agreement bargaining activities, as well as providing professional labour relations advice to leaders and employees across all employee lifecycle activities.

This role reports directly to the Employment Relations Manager and provides a unique opportunity to work in a busy and supportive team environment, delivering high standards and timely outcomes for our organisation. As we undergo a period of transformation across our People and Culture operating model, this role will play a key role in shaping our future ways of working.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting enterprise agreement bargaining, advocacy, and negotiations with unions and external bodies
  • Advising on and applying terms of employment in accordance with Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and employment legislation
  • Monitoring the industrial and employment relations landscape and providing strategic advice on adherence to compliance and responding to change
  • Assisting the Employment Relations Manager in monitoring conditions of employment and minimising industrial disputes, including building professional relationships with unions
About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate alignment to our purpose and values, together with:

  • Proven experience negotiating enterprise agreements in a large and complex business environment
  • Experience engaging with unions and great working knowledge of the Industrial Relations system, Acts, and laws
  • The ability to manage parts of the Enterprise Agreement strategy development, negotiations, implementation, and compliance
