We are currently seeking an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team in Western Sydney.

This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract with the possibility of being converted into a permanent role.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining robust Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management systems and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting regular inspections, risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory standards;
  • Leading incident investigations, analysing root causes and recommending effective corrective and preventive actions;
  • Delivering comprehensive HSE training programs to employees and contractors, fostering a safety-conscious culture;
  • Monitoring and reporting on environmental performance metrics, proposing initiatives for continuous improvement;
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to promote HSE awareness and ensure adherence to standards;
  • Confidently communicating with external auditing teams to facilitate audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with external standards and regulations;
  • Staying updated on industry trends, regulatory changes and best practices to drive ongoing enhancement of HSE initiatives.

You will also enjoy a competitive salary package inclusive of superannuation, with a salary of up to $100,000 + super for the right experience.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar HSE Officer or related role, ideally within the industrial sector.

A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or a related field is required, with relevant certifications advantageous.

The successful applicant will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong understanding of safety legislation and safety auditing.
