Job Overview

This role is focused on driving a safety-first culture within an organization. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of integrated HSE management systems.

With multiple projects underway, we are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our organization. You will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact through proactive systems, engaged leadership, and meaningful consultation.

The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of WHS principles and practices, as well as excellent leadership and coaching skills. Experience working with infrastructure contractors, government clients, and subcontractors is highly desirable.

About the Role
  • Champion a zero-harm approach and lead visible safety leadership initiatives
  • Develop and implement integrated HSE management systems and documentation
  • Oversee OHS audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses
  • Lead the development and delivery of training and mentoring programs to lift safety capability
  • Partner with teams across Precontracts, Operations, and Delivery to embed safety early
  • Drive improvements to performance metrics, lead indicators, and safety outcomes
  • Support accreditation and compliance efforts
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in OHS, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS (or equivalent recognized qualification)
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior HSE role within civil construction or infrastructure projects
  • Expert-level knowledge of WHS Act 2011, relevant codes of practice, and standards
  • Proven ability to lead HSE systems, investigations, audits, and risk assessments
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to influence at all levels
