Senior Health and Safety Professional
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Health and Safety Professional to join our team. This role is critical in providing expertise and advice to managers, supervisors, contractors, and employees in health and safety legislation through coaching and mentoring and assist leaders in the delivery of effective risk-based solutions to drive health and safety improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Support the business through analysis and evaluation of health and safety risk management initiatives
- Conduct regular assurance activities / control checks, through audits and inspections to analyse and report the effectiveness of risk treatment strategies
- Provide professional advice into the design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the organisation's health and safety management framework
- Conduct reviews and provide timely risk-based advice to inform the compliance and assurance program
- Provide input into incident investigations, reviews, and analysis of incident reports to support risk-based rectification of health and safety hazards
- Provide specialist health and safety knowledge to leaders to enable them to implement safe work practices
- Facilitate the management of change for health and safety initiatives by providing advocacy, coaching, and support for the flow of information
- Provide reports on contractor and consultant health and safety performance and assist in any audits undertaken into contractor health and safety management systems, processes, and performance
- Lead a small team of health and safety professionals, in providing support and guidance as a professional in the health and safety field
- ">A relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
Registration with the Australian Institute of Health and Safety (AIHS)
Experience working in rail industry is highly regarded but not essential
