Delivering optimal outcomes for injured employees is a vital aspect of this role.

As an Injury Management Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting injured employees, line managers, and external stakeholders to achieve meaningful and sustainable return-to-work results. This involves working closely with various teams to coordinate and drive workers' compensation claims, manage injury reporting processes, and ensure compliance with state legislation.

The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of Victorian Workers Compensation legislation, with familiarity across other state and national frameworks being desirable. They will also have the ability to work collaboratively with employees, managers, medical professionals, and insurers to develop effective return-to-work plans and drive early intervention strategies.

This role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and solid time management and organisational abilities. A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous learning, inclusion, and safe work practices are also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough and factual investigations for serious workplace injuries.
  • Strategically manage workers' compensation claims from lodgement through to closure.
  • Collaborate with medical practitioners, insurers, and internal teams to support return to work outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing advice and coaching to line managers and supervisors on claims handling and injury management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, case notes, and documentation in case management systems.
  • Facilitate the reimbursement process with payroll and finance in coordination with the insurer.
  • Deliver internal training sessions on claims, return to work procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of National Job Dictionary and Injury Management Packs.
  • Participate in quarterly insurer file reviews and state-based injury management reviews.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years' experience in Injury Management or Workers' Compensation (ideally across multiple jurisdictions).
  • Strong knowledge of Victorian Workers Compensation legislation, with familiarity across other state and national frameworks desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with employees, managers, medical professionals, and insurers.
  • Experience in developing return-to-work plans and driving early intervention strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Solid time management and organisational abilities with a proactive mindset.
  • Computer literacy across MS Office Suite and case management systems.
