Operational Team Leader

The Operational Team Leader plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality support to clients with intellectual disabilities.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Developing and managing operational service delivery models, ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintaining expertise in operational service delivery and participating in the development, review, and implementation of Individual Development Plans.
  • Staying informed about changes to relevant legislative requirements, departmental policies, procedures, and operational practices, and ensuring their effective implementation.
  • Applying human resource management policies, procedures, and practices, including Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Providing leadership and management to operational service delivery staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support to clients.
  • Monitoring staff training needs and identifying opportunities for improvement through training and professional development.
  • Articulating performance standards and providing constructive feedback to support staff development.
  • Conducting individual time and implementing Professional Development Agreements (PDA) with staff, participating in recruitment and selection processes, monitoring performance, and absenteeism, and leading performance and conduct improvement processes.
  • Developing effective working relationships with staff, stakeholders, and clients, including families, allied persons, guardians, financial administrators, healthcare professionals, and government agencies.
  • Assisting in the identification, development, and implementation of continuous improvement activities to enhance service delivery.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Effective leadership and management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of operational service delivery models and best practices.
  • Ability to maintain expertise in operational service delivery and stay up-to-date with changes to legislative requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement Individual Development Plans and Professional Development Agreements (PDA).
  • Knowledge of human resource management policies, procedures, and practices, including Workplace Health and Safety.
