About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist to join our vibrant team at Western Diagnostic Pathology. As a key member of our Haematology department, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and organizing training, education, and ongoing support for the haematology team
  • Reviewing internal quality control and external quality assurance performance to maintain NATA accreditation
  • Assisting in troubleshooting technical issues and completing internal audits
  • Managing equipment and method validation/verification

About You

To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:

  • Extensive experience and theoretical knowledge in haematology, including flow cytometry, morphology, specialist coagulation, and Hb Electrophoresis
  • Sound knowledge of reviewing haematology end of month internal quality control and external quality assurance performance
  • Sound knowledge of statistical analysis and good understanding of ISO15189, NPAAC, and CLSI guidelines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Ability to triage workload and attend to multiple tasks, with a high degree of independence and infrequent supervision
