About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced scientist to join our team at Microbiogen Pty Ltd as a Senior Research Scientist. As a key member of our research team, you will work closely with our Principal Scientists and report to the Deputy Head of Research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clear guidance to our teams across biofuels, baking, animal feeds, human nutrition & biochemicals using our proprietary breeding technology.
  • Conduct research to develop processes and strains for our diverse portfolio of applications in this hands-on laboratory role, encompassing a range of biology disciplines, such as evolutionary genetics, cell biology, and microbial physiology.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to drive innovation and idea generation, and to develop and implement new research projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners and collaborators to advance our research goals.
  • Communicate research findings and results to both internal and external stakeholders through written and verbal reports.

Requirements

  • PhD in Biochemistry or Cell Biology, with 6 years of post-doctoral experience.
  • Microbial or cell culturing background, with a desire to further develop your knowledge in this area.
  • Demonstrated track record in innovation and idea generation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong collaborator, with proven ability to work with external partners and collaborators.
  • Highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with bioreactor operation and monitoring.
