About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef and Demi Chef to join our team at Commercial Hotel Aberdeen. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef/Manager/Owner in running and maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu planning and development in collaboration with the Head Chef and management team.
  • Daily food production, supervision, and participation to ensure high-quality dishes are served to our customers.
  • Ordering and managing food supplies, including portion control, waste management, and stock procurement.
  • Costing menu items accurately and tracking production efficiency to optimize profitability.
  • Monitoring product mix, client demand, and special promotions to inform menu decisions.
  • Ensuring all food is cooked to perfection, served on time, and presented professionally.
  • Effective management of kitchen equipment, appliances, small wares, supplies, and tools.
  • Maintaining high kitchen standards in food hygiene, safety, quality, and preparation.
  • Improving kitchen operating efficiency by adhering to and upgrading kitchen policy and procedure.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and creative individual who is dedicated to enhancing our customers' experience. The successful candidate must possess:

  • Trade Certificate IV of Cookery.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of proven experience in a similar role.
  • Passion for cooking and detailed knowledge of food and produce.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure in a fast-paced quality restaurant.
  • Attention to detail and maintaining high standards for food.
